Canal agents

I'm planning on running a 58' by 19', 75 ton (gross) fishboat around from the east coast to the west. What will it cost me for Panama canal fees, and who are some good agents that will expedite the paperwork, but not extort? Thanks.

canal agents

Hi guys, did the trip through. Pretty fun, but nerve wracking. A highlight of my life. Dont be afraid to stay on top of the line handlers, its a farily easy process but they dont necessarily know what they are doing. I hate to be negative here but I cannot recommend Tina Mcbride as an agent. The person who went through with us on her behalf and helped on the colon side was good, and an exceptional person with more amasing stories than you could imagine, but every dealing with her directly was frustrating and despite her cleaims of being "the queen of sailboats" I, and others got the impression that she was disorganized, and not very professional. Stress from dealings with somone who you are paying a fairly big fee to make things easier. Thumbs down. If you dont speak spanish I would think about getting an agent, if you are passable you can handle it yourself. Cheers
