Beware of Rocks ... FLOATING Rocks!

"on Thursday sailors from New Zealand's Royal Navy found nearly 10,000 square miles of the lava rock bobbing on the surface of the South Pacific Ocean."

What size Bruce would you use to anchor that thing? And can I claim it as my own?

Re: Beware of Rocks..........FLOATING rocks!

Why do they always have to bring Rhode Island into the mix? Does anyone actually conceptualize the size of Rhode Island?

Re: Beware of Rocks..........FLOATING rocks!

This is actually a hazard to shipping, and sailors. It may be light but how big are some of these rocks, and there'll certainly be little anti-fouling or gel coat after a passage through this stuff at normal speeds, and who knows what it will do to cooling systems. Certainly it's not going to pass through filters.
How many commercial vessels have sails as a back up plan?
What will nature throw at us next???
