Another Phillipine ferry disaster...
One of the big ferries in the Philippines has capsized during a typhoon with enormous loss of life.
I trust that none of our friends or relatives have been affected. My thoughts are with those families who have lost so much. I cannot understand how a large ferry could find itself in such a position. |

This frustrates me so much as I live in the Philippines and I love the people ……BUT!
Front page reads “Act of God!” when everyone knows this was a stupid, senseless and easily avoidable tragedy if basic prudence and command integrity had been used rather than company pressures and corupt inspections, training, representation! You can bring a Filipino to water….but you can’t make him think! ![]() |

Pelagic,
That pretty much covers politics in the country. My wife is Filipina, and in the next several years I will be moving there. CORRUPTION in all facets of the government is immense. From inspectors to the person at the counter when looking for documents. Greed, and poverty are an overwhelming factor. Where are you in the Phils? |

Holding those responsible to account...
It would be nice if those responsible were properly held to account.
If this is not done I fear that this is just another of a series of Philippine marine disasters. |
