Annapolis Sailboat Show Flea Market ?
I'll be at the Annapolis sailboat show in October. Someone mentioned that there is usually a flea market during the show - does anyone have any details on th flea market? Location? Is there a web site? etc.. Thanks.

Does anyone sell boats at the show? Not motherships, but just little guys. I'm looking at getting a hard dinghy, and no real interest in the RIB yet. I'm wondering if I should just wait until the show, maybe see something cool I haven't heard of yet, or order the one I have my eyes on now, and get it shipped, while I still have someplace to ship it to?

Boat show
The flea market is over at Backyard Boats in Eastport, you can get a consignee license from someone, but I don't know who. If Backyard Boats doesn't know, call Sailrite in Annapolis, they are likelyt o know. AS for dinghys, yes you can buy whatever your heart desires and generally get a boat show special price.

Sweet!
That will be much easier too. No throwing it on a roof rack. Just drop it in and motor...or tow it home.

Dinghys
I'm not sure of the inventory dealers carry there, but if you really want to drive it home, I am sure they would find a way to produce one. If you are going to the Caribbean get the biggest damn dinghy you can afford; we didn't and we were sorry. We bought an AB as soon as we got home. Wrong order of doing things.

Probably not Carib, but SE Florida, may do a little hop over to Mexico, though.
Probably a Watertender or Livingston boat, about 9', which is the biggest that will fit on my davits without blocking the steps.
Hmm...2 Wests in Annapolis too. Wonder if they'll have any show deals. They do carry the WaterTender.

I read somewhere (sorry I can't remember where) that the flea market was in May this year rather than at the same time at the boat show. But, I could be wrong. Been known to happen...

The flea market at the GAM has historically been tiny, and more a meet and greet area than anything else.
The seminars still aren't posted except for the two "pay-to-play" sessions ($70!) on anchoring and diesel engines. The guy who did the diesel engine session last year is back for the latter and he was great, but I'm not sure about $70 for a session where you know everyone wants to know about their own engine. The anchoring session is by the fellow who edits Practical Sailor.

Gord,
I appreciate the link to the flyer. The main page (your second link) continues to say
"Seminars will be held Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. Complete program will be posted on the website soon.)"
The flea market last year was about 8 picnic tables. It's small.

svlittlewing,
The flea market will be in May, it's the 3rd annual. Sounds like it will be huge.
The outfit is US Boat. (usboat.com)
The Annapolis sailboat show is the biggest, and maybe the oldest continuous, in the world. We'll be going to both!
Have fun.
