Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show

I get there real early eat breakfast at Chick and Ruth's a couple blocks up from ego alley then to the Latts and Atts booth to see Bob Bitchin next to the Island Packet yachts the large gold flag and star, Roast beef at the yacht club and a pain killer with an extra shot floated on top then I walk all he tents for the pain killer to wear off. On the way out by car I stop for dinner at the Double T dinner for matzo ball soup and a Ruben then a pastry to go so I wont starve on the way home.

Had a crab omlette there this morning! Things are still kind of quiet around but I am assuming they will start picking up soon!

IP has had the very end spot in Ego Alley for more years than I can remember. L&A gets stuck around the corner of the Marriott up by the southernmost entrance on Compromise St.

The good sandwiches are at the Fleet Reserve Club which is the only adjacent club. The Annapolis Yacht Club is up by the draw bridge and Eastport Yacht Club is--well--in Eastport.

My wife and I will be headed down to the show on Saturday (oct 8th) but will be staying at bwi since none of the 15, yes 15 b&bs and hotels I called in Annapolis had vacancy. Question is is there a way to get to the show from bwi without renting a car? It doesn't seem worth it with the parking issues.

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show

You might try the Super Shuttle from BWI Airport to downtown Annapolis if you can get from you hotel back to the airport.

Accommodations within walking distance of the show are generally booked 8 to 10 months ahead. By this point less than two weeks out BWI and New Carollton are about as close as you will get.

Have lunch at the Boatyard Bar in Eastport. You will feel right at home.

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show

Best spot for the take-down party is on the roof of Pussers — after you've had a painkiller or two.

I had a room booked at the Marriott, but it was over $ 500/night. Being from the left coast, I'm combining the show with a week in DC sightseeing. I decided to just base myself in DC and drive in to the show. Hope that works out OK.

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show

If you're driving in to the show, you can park at Navy Stadium and take the shuttle into town. Don't try to find parking in town.

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show

Man oh man, I'm getting excited. Great seafood, cold drinks, get to kick tires on some boats I can't afford, and best of all, I get to talk boat stuff all weekend.

So Pusser's has a bar in Crabtown now? When did that happen? When does the Willie T Bar open

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show

MikeinLA: Hint from a local guy. Have lunch at the Boatyard Bar in Eastport. Leave your car in their lot and walk to the boat show. It's about 10 minutes to the gate.

Navy is playing at home on the 8th...3:30 kickoff. Stadium parking will be problematic. Alternate parking on Saturday is on Riva Road..see the shows webpage for info. Welcome to the United States Sailboat Show! | United States Yacht Shows

1. There are only about 12 spaces in the lot at Boatyard.

2. Dick has figured that trick out and will have you towed.

Closest parking is the rec center across from the Fleet Reserve Club. You can also park at Eastport Elementary School - the PTA runs the parking and the fee is tax deductible.

Mike:

It's a quick 45 miute to 1 hour trip the Annapolis Boatshow from DC up Route 50. Just be careful on the return trip coming into DC from Route 50 where it turns into New York Ave. Got picked up TWO TIMES by a speed camera. Both times doing 46 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. Very strange coincidence eh? I was at the show last year and the following might give you a little taste of what to expect:

THE BIANKA LOG BLOG: REPORT FROM THE ANNAPOLIS BOAT SHOW: PART ONE
THE BIANKA LOG BLOG: REPORT FROM THE ANNAPOLIS BOAT SHOW: PART TWO: THIS SHOW IS RIGGED!
THE BIANKA LOG BLOG: REPORT FROM ANNAPOLIS: PART 3: GENERATING INTEREST
THE BIANKA LOG BLOG: REPORT FROM THE ANNAPOLIS BOAT SHOW:PART 4: ELECTRIFYING
THE BIANKA LOG BLOG: REPORT FROM ANNAPOLIS: PART 5: A PORTA-BOTE IMPROVEMENT

Enjoy the show!
