Her outfit is hardly high heels and sussies, it's just something nicer than the usual sailing or working garb we see her in on her blog.
I wouldn't call http://images.smh.com.au/2010/07/28/...ker2-420x0.jpg "girly clothes". It's a nice practical shirt that happens to have some pink in it. It's not as if she's gone and painted her entire boat pink.

Hey - at least it makes it easy to find in a crowded marina...

Re: Abby Sunderland - SoloRound

The latest on Abby Sunderland, her new book and film in an article from today's Los Angeles Times. From the article:

"Abby Sunderland is sitting barefoot aboard her brother's boat in Marina del Rey on a recent morning, her blond hair fluttering in the light breeze. The only physical evidence of the five months she traveled by herself at sea before her sailboat rolled over, ripping off her mast and soaking everything on board, is a simple rope bracelet.

"The knotted white band on her left wrist was a gift from one of the French fishermen who found her last summer, officially ending her attempt to become the world's youngest sailor to circumnavigate the globe nonstop. She's dressed in a Hurley sweatshirt and skinny jeans, this California teen who last year was stranded 2,000 miles from landin the middle of the Indian Ocean on a sailboat demolished by a 50-foot rogue wave."

Re: Abby Sunderland - SoloRound

Abby and her Brother Zack (?) are going to be at the Strictly Sail boat show in Oakland, California (April 15-17), talking about their books I think. While I wish them a long and happy life, I doubt if I will be attending their talks.

I will be at the boat show a couple of those days, helping out at the Pacific Cup Yacht Club booth. If you are interested in a fun race to Hawaii, or just want to see some race-equipped boats and join us for the Mai-Tai party, stop by and say hello.
