I received an email telling me of comments on a discussion I've contributed to. When I clicked on the link, part of this email, the following message comes up. This message strikes me as curious. Could someone clarify?

alan2, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

You may have wandered into a thread that is under review for content.

You will receive that message if you've clicked on a link that goes to a part of the site for which your account does not have access permission. In other words, if a post or thread is being discussed privately among the site staff, or if they have moved a post or thread out of public view while they're actively discussing some aspect of the post or thread, anyone who clicks on a link that leads to that out-of-public-view area will receive that message. It's not a personal judgment directed at a particular member and is a simple function of the vBulletin software that the site runs on.

The several possibilities mentioned by responders are certainly interesting, though looking at the discussion itself, I fail to see anything that might be problematic.

There is, of course, the possibility that some individuals, or software might be more sensitive to nuiances than I. In any case, I await resolution. Possibly a moderator or moderators might offer clarification.

The "Taking Multiple Sun Shots" thread was moved to Quarantine today for attention by the site staff. For that reason, it is only accessible to staff while the problem is being addressed. Once any problematic posts and/or posters are dealt with, the thread will be restored to the Forum from which it was removed.
