Question What do you think of the new photo gallery?

Hi cruisers

What do you think of the new Photo Gallery? I think I'll make this a poll ...

A few suggestions

I like the photo gallery. Being able to upload (even small amounts) of pictures is something I really like.

The comments for pictures are centered. I think it would look better if they weren't like the rest of the site.

The urls generated when someone posts a comment is not a full url. Here is an example:

Gisle has posted a reply about the following photo:

"buji & tekno diving in Hawaii"
./showphoto.php?photo=48

If you no longer wish to be notified of replies about the above photo, you can disable notification for it here:

./comments.php?notify=off&notifyid=127&photo=48

Thanks!

Will check out the rest later

URL

Now the generated urls should be complete. Please tell me if they're still incomplete.

As a test I would need someone to post a comment on my picture so I can see the url in the email.

Here's another option that you didn't include in the poll:

(x) I don't look at the photo gallery except when somebody mentions a picture in their post and provides a link to it.

Downloading stuff from the web is too slow to go looking at random pictures. (I know, everybody but me has 100 mbps broadband, right?) On the other hand, it is useful to have a place to stash a picture of something particularly relevant. For example, I commented in one of the threads about batteries, and I uploaded a couple graphs showing real-life charge curves for my system. Similarly, others occasionally have something useful to show.

Otherwise, it takes enough time to download the text of the forum, so I'm not going looking for pictures in general.

I am as bad as other broadband users, dont think about the impact on old dial-up peeps. Perhaps we need a warning sign on a thread showing the presence of large image files in the thread.
