What do the asterisks mean on "who's online"?

Anyone know what the asterisk (*) behind certain names (ie: velero, et al, below) is meant to indicate?

There are currently 37 members and 172 guests on the boards. | Most users ever online was 1026 on 22-07-2004 at 19:54.
