Two Possible Improvements...

Hi all! Just a few suggestions for possible improvements to the Cruisers Forum; first, would it be possible to make the whole header / logo at the top of each forum page a button to return back to the Home Page Portal? Second, at the bottom of each page, below the quick reply box, would it be possible to place a banner / button that also links back to the Home Page Portal? I believe both of these additions would quicken thread surfing...What do you all think? Thanks, Chris

OK, what am I missing? Am I the only one who thinks this would be helpful? Do I need to change the title of this post to "Free Sex!" ? Wouldn't clickable banners at both the top and bottom of each thread that take you back to the homepage speed up your surfing? What am I doing wrong? These and other questions answered at five...

hey Chris, may not be an option with the template the webpage is built on... This is not a ground up build, it's a template that is customized with graphic drop in and colours. The clickable banner option, as easy as it SHOULD be, may just not be an option with the system.

I would guess with the new mouses and up to date systems, pages are very EZ to surf. With the magic mouse surfing is a swipe away. Apple - Magic Mouse - The world’s first Multi-Touch mouse.

How about making the width auto-adjust to the size of the screen?

I think the thing that would speed everything up would be to get rid of those adds. It seems they have to load before things work. But that probably isn't so easy to do iether...
I'm all for the buttons at the bottom. It certainly would save a step.

I am planning to work on this stuff in the near future. I will try to get the links so you can get back to the portal easy as well as set the page to fluid so it will expand to the width of your monitor (the current setting is about 7 years old and monitors have changed a lot since them). Look for these changes in the near future...

the ads I get are 2 (large ish) Google ads at the top of the screen (1/2 size banners?) - which don't bother me in the slighest, and sometimes are even mildly amusing . Underneath of which is a row of 1 word ads - which to my eyes are a complete waste of time

To be honest I would like more Google Ads But only if done well

I am thinking on the "how to" threads or those with a specific topic where the reader may want to either go off and buy something referred to or simply research further. How that is usually done is by then..........manually deciding what the search terms I need are and then doing a Google Search .

Seems to me would make my life easier if the search terms / keywords were already identified by Google in a sensible manner (with manual tweeking by CF.com?) and presented in such a way that was not intrusive to the thread, were clearly adverts / a google search / one click easy to use and were worth me clicking on by actually generating useful results (i.e. if I am looking for the stainless steel shackles referred to in the thread I at least get folk selling marine shackles (even if not selling exactly what I am looking for at least not sites selling only Bondage gear ).

Just a thought..............

David, I hear you. I don't have control over what ads Google serves nor will they provide small publishers access like you are suggesting. I think one of the problems is all the new behavioral targeting ads they serve now. If you had been on a finance site earlier and come to CF there is a chance you will see finance ads. What happens is they are digging to find something you will respond to. They figure if you did not respond to the last ads keep trying to find ways to connect so you will respond.
