Site Not All that User Friendly...

New to site. Am I supposed to create a profile? If so, how? Can pictures be posted? If so, where?

Welcome! If you click on "User CP" at the top of the web page, you can upload your profile picture if you want. You might need to post a few times to be able to upload pictures, I don't really remember.

Welcome to the forum - with some time, you'll learn your way around and in the interim this may help: http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...ics-19760.html

Good afternoon Formosa46AK,

Aren't you the insulting one? I'm brand new to the site and it takes a bit of getting used to and your first response is to insult a newbie. That's just rude!

I would say that this forum follows the very same protocols that the vast majority of forums follow - even using a widely-used engine. The OP should take some comfort in knowing that once he gets familiar with the way it functions he can bring that knowledge forward across the forum universe.

This is amongst the tamest of sailing forums. You might consider growing a thicker skin if posting here (or anywhere) is something you plan to do much of.

It isn't anymore which is probably why it has growth so much.

But far as easy to use it seems for the most part I'm on at least 3 sailing forums that the engine is so close to each other that it must be some type of "package standard"

Well... yeah - a bit, but more likely it's just that he's forgotten how being new can be unsettling

Hang in there; the board will become more familiar with some experience. Just ask if you have specific questions and we'll (all) try to help out.

You're right. I didn't have enough beer in me to put up with the "Site Not All that User Friendly..." carp. This site is great. And as far being the other person being a Newbie, I've only got about a dozen posts but I don't post carp like "Site Not All that User Friendly..." when I had only a couple of posts like the 'Love to whatever' commenter. Just how I feel about it.

He is a SHE.....for the record and IMHO, Formosa's response was rude and uncalled for.
