PM from New Member

I just received a PM from a new member named Turing today which said hello - how are you doinf and had a link to a religious website. This member has not posted any forum posts - so I am wondering if anyone else received a PM from this person and are they a valid member - there is no info on his/her profile. Maybe a Mod could check it out. Thanks, Randy

Randy,

This is a repeat performance. This user has been banned for 10 days. We may decide to extend it.

Yeah, I got one too, Benny. It didn't bother me, though I did feel a little foolish when I tried to reply ("member does not accept PM, etc.") and then email him ("member does not accept email, etc."). I did the same as you and looked at his (empty) profile, then just forgot about it. I noticed he was logged in for quite awhile, so . . . whatever.

I would say the extension is worth prolonging.

Yeah, we got one too. Although I did go to their site and found a good quote that I liked and can be applied to cruising...

"Even if you win at the rat race, you are still a rat."

Sounds like a vote to sell my house and get my boat.

I also received the message and agree that the extension is worth prolonging.

Add me to the list, thought I was doing something wrong when I noticed he/she had posted nothing prior. After a few seconds, said to h*** with it, and deleted the message. I vote for extending the ban permanently, but then I have a very low tolerance level....

"Even if you win at the rat race, you are still a rat."

Liily Tomlin the comedienne said it this way, Robin williams in the movie Hook said " It takes a rat to win a rat race" but I think the original quote was someone else and I'm thinking Einstein - I googled it but only came up with the Lilly Tomlin quote - Gord, maybe you could bring your unparalelled search powers to bear on this one.

As far as banning Turing - Arrrgh - Run the scurvy dog thru and feed Im to the sharks ..arrrgh !

Done and Done - He be toast forever!

And, let me add - should this occur in the future, feel free to PM an on-line mod or admin so we can put a stopper on it.

And another word.... After I received a PM from one of our members, I banned him ... and he spent another 30 minutes trying to send PMs ... then he popped up to his user controls ... then the scurvy dog left with his short little tail tucked between his tiny little legs.

Arrrrrgggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!

Benny:

Sorry, I can’t help with an attribution for the Williams version of the “rat race” maxim.
("The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources." ~ Albert Einstein)

I used to know who coined the phrase, but I forgot.
(Forgetfulness is a sign of genius; but I forgot who said it. I think I've forgotten this before)

I’d also have to agree with Tom Wilson, who complained: “I wouldn't mind the rat race, if only the rats would lose once in a while.”

I didn't get a PM

Maybe he had read one of my previous posts touching on Politics???

However, if anyone here does want to hear my views on Religious matters, please feel free to ask

Doesn't seem like its enough. Isn't there some sort of cyber equivalent to keel-hauling?
