Notification Issues

I am having trouble turning off email notification of new post to threads to which I am subscribed. I have tried changing this in the CP with no effect, what now?

OK, just to be certain...

Open your UserCP in the nav bar in the upper left of the screen.

Then click "Edit Options" in the lefthand column.

Scroll down to the "Default Thread Subscription Mode" box.

Select "No email notification".

Is that what you did?

Send a message via Skype™ to Dreaming Yachtsman
Don't neglect an important last step: after selecting the Remove Subscription option in the drop down menu box at the bottom of the screen, you must click "Go" to save the changes.

Good point, DY. Can't assume anything when computers are involved. Thanks!

Not to be pedantic and just to be clear.

You are finding these controls in the User CP.

- Set eMail notification off
- Save changes (scroll way to the bottom...)

Thanks Hud, John, and Dan. Yes, that is exactly what I did. At one point I was a moderator on Airforums, one of Andy's other sites so I understand Vbulletin. I think there are software issues here.

Hi Boondocker and I am sorry you are having this continued trouble.

It does not seem logical that it is a software issue at this end as no other users are complaining of this problem.

I also subscribe with no email notification and it is working fine for me.

I checked you profile in the vBulletin mod screen and you definitely have the correct selection.

I am pretty sure this setting does not reside on your PC as a cookie or I would ask you to clear your cookies and try again.

Maybe this needs to go to a techie.
