Rip it out and start over...you will be glad you did. Or, depending on venue, just rip it out.

Eliminate the macerator if you can...they are a constant source of trouble (as are holding tanks) and macerating is unecessary...any human waste thats gone thru a manual head pump is pretty well broken down. A gravity dump tank is best (if you can position for this on a V40). A diaphram pump next.

Peg is online and always glad to help. CLR or RidLime, household products, will be safer than Muriatic and may be strong enough for the calcification. The settlements may be more difficult.

Replumbing the boat with an Incinolet (to use in port) and a Vacflush, andall new hoses (since they all go porous and start to stink after ten+ years at best) could be worthwhile.

But if the boat is still in the water, instead of letting all that stuff bother you, just tell me where to come pick it up. I can be there Saturday morning, the boat will be gone by Sunday, just leave the title papers and the bill of sale in the nav station, I'll leave a couple of bucks on the dock for you, no other charge.(VBG)

I just removed our composting toilet way to much work backup.Installed a Raritan electro scan and marine Elegance toilet. We live on the boat and just add table salt to the system too keep the amps up. The hose that Raritan sells is great. Looking for a replacement for their CP cleaner does any one know. Raritan help line is the best for help

You might try running very hot water with detergent initially through the head and later directly into the pump out port. Rock the boat as much as possible and pump out before it has much chance to cool down. Repeat several times. Will not remove calcification but should work on dried crud.
