log in question & pop up message

Today, for some reason, I keep getting the following message in a pop up menu:

"The user name or password you entered for this area on cdn.socialknowledge.com:80 was incorrect. Make sure you’re entering them correctly, and then try again."

I've tried entering my user name and password to no avail. This menu appears every time I click on a new subject or thread. What's up with this?

Yeah, same here. Probably a little site bug; I just hit cancel.

Fair winds,

Re: log in question & pop up message

Guys I think this is a password hijacking attempt, don't do it!

You get the message:

A username and password are being requested by http://cdn.socialknowledge.com. The site says: "Forum Admin"

It is not your log in and password that you put at the top right corner! If you (or anyone else reading this!) have typed your password in, I would strongly suggest changing it this very moment!

Please note you can log in regularly in the upper right corner, and if you click "CANCEL" the pop up window eventually goes away.

Hopefully an admin will chime in here with what is going on.

Re: log in question & pop up message

It is also happening to me. What gives? Is there something I can do at my end? Is there something the moderators can do?

Help!

I suspect the only thing the moderators can do is to contact the guy who runs the website and then he can track down how this "phishing" attack can be dealt with.

I suspect it will be handled sometime before lunch tomorrow, or maybe even before breakfast.

Re: log in question & pop up message

I have just reported the problem to the Tech staff. It is around midnight in the US, so it will probably be a few hours until someone sorts this out.

Sorry for the problems.

This isn't a phishing attempt - it's a site config issue and not malicious. We're working on it...

Re: log in question & pop up message

After looking around a bit, it's not just this forum. It's appearing on multiple Social Knowledge, LLC / vBulletin forums.

Re: log in question & pop up message

It went away for a while but now it's back and a bit more persistent.

This should be fixed. Please let me know if you are still seeing this.
