Lifeboat Crew Forum?

Is there a forum within this community for lifeboats?

Hi and welcome aboard. You can definitely ask questions about lifeboat. But most poeple arn't looking to crew on a lifeboat, they just find them selfs on one,,, say when there cruise boat sinks out from under them

Many cruise-ship lifeboats are outfitted as tenders. Have lost count the many times I've rode them in the harbor between ship and dock. They have two engines (presumably to provide increased maneuverability) while the plain-vanilla lifeboats have only one. I believe this picture was taken in Juneau. Other cruise ships fully occupied the docks, so we had to anchor out and use tenders. And then there are ports with no suitable docks.

The tenders normally use a crew of two: helmsman and line handler. Passengers aren't allowed to help. "Hands/arms in, everybody."
