Just an idea........

........for the meets and greets section........how about a sticky welcome (???!!!).....that includes a request / encouragement / polite suggestion that folk post up pics of their boat, although I appreciate that some are reluctant to post pics of themselves and family or identifiers online - but I do click on profiles....mainly to have a looksee at someone else's boat!

Anyone else do the same?

I would like to see more of that info as well although in this day and age, I think most want to balance that with their privacy. I have probably given it away already but I know I don't want to show a pic of myself or my work boat, nor let the general public know who I work for which would also mean knowing where I work. Some people are a lot more private than others which I respect.

I think it is a good idea, and to add to that. I would like to see more descriptions of the photos posted.

A "sticky" is impersonal. What we would really like is someone to become a "personal greeter" and we(the mod team) have discussed that idea. But it becomes a rather difficult task now we have so many members and the rate of sign up is so large. So we didn't take that any further because we find that most of you wonderful people do the job just fine anyway.
As for posting photo's and more information. I too would love to see more of both. But one has to accept that folks will need to become at ease with the place before more of either is posted. Some places out there you do not want personal info posted on. One thing I like very much about here, is we are a much "safer" community. Well as safe as anyone ever can be in a Cyberspace community.
