Consider using DivX from http://www.divx.com/divx
. There are tons of devices that can play DivX (http://www.divx.com/products/products.php
). It is easy to get DivX videos to playback in a web browser. Also it is pretty easy to compress video from cameras, and I see they have cameras that directly record
in DivX now too.
Real question is even with this compression
will people be able to have enough bandwidth while cruising to put up videos? Nice pictures are 50-150k (~1024x768 pixels), while nice meaningful length (~30-45 seconds) high quality videos (640x480 pixels @ 30 frames per second), even with state of the art compression, are more like 5000k+.
