Icons

Can anyone tell me what the ICON on the far left that shows an envelope with a dot on it is? I can't find one like it anywhere other than my own posts.
thanks

If all else fails, read the directions. Of course, I have to wear out ALL other options first

What directions?

Seriously, no smiley here -- I have not found anything on this site that looks like directions for how to use it. If you have, I'd love to know where.

At the startup screen, across the top under the picture you'll see two lines; the first includes "Discussion Board" and "Photo Gallery." Under those are three subheadings each. The middle section under "Photo Gallery" is F.A.Q (Frequently Asked Questions. Click on F.A.Q.) and you will find several board use related questions and answers that may help you find what you need.

Good luck.

I find this to be a great board, and believe you will find persevering worth the effort.

Unfortunately, a FAQ is a feeble substitute for real documentation.

For example, the question that started this thread is not addressed in the FAQ. More generally, what do ALL the icons mean? How do I find new replies to articles that I read previously? How do I mark a particular thread as uninteresting even if it gets new posts? What would I ask about, if only I knew the feature existed?

I agree that this is a fine board, which reflects the people who post here. I just observe that the user documentation is poor, a feature that it has in common with nearly every web-based forum I've ever seen.
