How to get WiFi in SE Asian countries

Hello all!
I am getting my new Seawind 1160 in April in Vietnam, where she's being build presently.
I am not planning to cross any big oceans, but to putter along the coasts and from island to island.
Eventually I will live aboard in Langkawi. My question is how to best receive and send emails in the different countries when sailing. Is there a "global" provider one can buy a plan from? Direct satellite reception? Any devise connected to a lap top which can receive and send?
I am grateful for any suggestions!
Thomas

Re: How to get WiFi in SE Asian countries

Traveled thru asia a couple of times overland, last time I was in Cambodia I was able to get data on the sim card that was pretty cheap and tethered to laptop. Would suggest you invest in a pocket WiFi devise 4G unlocked and with antennae get all this before you go. I tried getting local sims in different countries, local sims was easy and very economical, data however wasn't but that could be language issue.
In general WiFi is available in hotels but the reach is poor. Could be a option to get a range extender/rebroadcaster in your arsenal (On these forums heard good things about Ubiquiti bullet), but I have no experience with this devise. A simple USB WiFi dongle in a 12V router is a possible solution.
Asking in stores often brings blank expressions. As time passes I notice less options not more, for example difficult to get a Mobile telephone that takes antennae jack not since samsung3.
