Re: How do I edit and delete posts?

There is an edit post function, but there is a time limit after posting/editing....not sure how long.

Only the mods can delete posts, not sure if they can memory-hole threads as well.

Yes, but I can't find any button or other means of editing a post.

At the bottom right of your post there should be a quote button and thanks button..HERE ^..if you still have access to edit, it will be there too.

Excellent Micah 179, I guess the post I wanted to edit was "stale" so the Edit button was gone.

Re: How do I edit and delete posts?

Micah is right. The edit function disappears after a few minutes. I don't know how long, but I suspect it is very few (5).

Which leads me to suggest the following which I try to follow:
Before you post, consider if that post of yours is helpful, is it true, is it kind, is it accurate, is it clear in meaning, and does its spelling and grammar represent you well, before you press the send button.

To delete hit the 'report post' button (triangle with exclamation point) on left bottom. Dialog box opens up and you can ask mods to delete.

Pretty sure the edit period is 30 minutes. End up redoing/adding to most of my posts. Can't seem to proof read a message before it's officially posted. Even then sometimes have a hard time understanding what I meant to say.

Is there any way to edit/delete posts that are older than 30 minutes??

Only two ways AFAIK.

1. As mentioned by Goat above
2. Become a Mod and DIY.

Re: How do I edit and delete posts?

If it needs major editing, contacting a mod with the triangle button at the lower left side of the post (it goes to all mods) and we can reset the clock for editing. We can also of course delete a post and you can repost then.

Re: How do I edit and delete posts?

Also if you are using the CF APP, just highlight your post within 30 minutes and Edit tab appears on top right.
Make changes and send to edit
I think if you make NO CHANGES and send....it prompts if you want to discard post....but have never tried that to confirm

Very near the top of the page is a pull down menu titled "Forums". Open the pull down menu and you will see a green button titled "+ Start a Discussion". Click on that green button and then follow the prompts.
