Highlighted Text ?

In recent weeks have been getting annoying red text on some Posts.

Sometimes more than 1 word.

No tags on this one, neither does the Red Text contain a hotlink.

Did I say it was annoying

Hopefully not an "upgrade"

Oh FFS

I give up

For those without a Microscope - the highlighted word in the post was "Mast".

Me neither D... Why don't you turn in a report to the help desk. Maybe our geeks will know what's up.

Were the posts you were reading the result of a search?

Clever... I suspect that mrlassiter is onto the explanation...

with a search (using the cruisers forum search term) (on "mast" ) I am able to see red highlight on the searched term (mast) after I click on the appropriate thread from the results list.

I generally use google for searching, as I find that it is easier.... I restrict my search to cruisers forum by using the site command:

I say old son, I believe that may be default BS warning indicator. Once the BS coefficient reaches a certain level, well...you know. Kind of a goat thing...

DOJ, it looks like your text was not really highlighted, but was, in fact, actually HyLyted.

That's why I posted it in the Forum Tech Support & Site Help section. If you have another contact point I will send 'em a link to this thread

FWIW the red highlighted text does not relate to any search terms I have done in the past.

It's sort of like reading a book where a small child has crayoned around the odd word - not the end of the world, just makes the reading experiance less enjoyable.

Not sure from your description where / what the damage is (US terminology, I think ) - but just to mention it is possible to Sleave a mast......which is basically joining two bits of mast together with an insert. Never done one but seems that the lower the join the better.

And FWIW, my boat (and her 100 odd sisterships) have sleeved masts (3 foot? above deck) - mine has been good for 40 years so far and I have not heard of any failures........
For illustration purposes, only.
