Social Knowledge is the entity that operates the Cruisers forum. Google is a well respected company as well. There is nothing insidious here - these are standard kinds of monitoring tools that we use to help connect members to the information they want and to monitor the forum. You can read about Terms of Service and Privacy policy via links at the bottom of the page but we have taken great care over the years to protect member information and keep the site free of trouble, spam and unwanted flotsam.

Nope, we do not pass them that information.

These are all different service that we use. Quantcast and Analytics are for keeping metrics on our community stats (how many people, how many page views, where visitors are from, etc. The Martini Network stuff is from an ad network we are partnered with (no personal user information is passed them).

You can view our Privacy Policy at the bottom right of every page where it says Privacy. Here is a link:

We have never sold or shared any user information with a 3rd party and we will never do so in the future unless a member expressly consents.

Re: Driving Revenue JavaScript

A search for cdn layer found this on kaparsky web site.

"Hi, I was scanning my computer and Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 gave me a message that my computer found a virus and here is it's description from the report:

Detected: virus HEUR: Trojan-Downloader.Script.Generic
Object:
-Webpage
-Path: xxp.cdnlayer.com/drivingrevenue/
-Name: DR_v4.js

I really don't know what to do with this, should I be worried, any tips on how to get rid of it? Any suggestions would help, thanks."

I addition a weekly scan of my PC by our trend micro found a trojan on my PC. First one in six months and I have not visited any other web sites than my usual. Something stinks in Denmark.

Re: Driving Revenue JavaScript

I got this message from Driving Revenue today:
Quote:
Yesterday we detected that TrendMicro labeled content hosted on one of the shared hosting domains we use as malicious. The content was unrelated to VigLink, but as a result, sites whose VigLink code references the shared domain are showing a warning when visitors load the page...

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused -- while there is no indication that the issue is related to the use of VigLink, we will be avoiding the use of shared hosting domains in the future, in order to prevent a future reoccurrence.

Regards,

Galen
It seems they were on a shared hosting account which had another domain that was serving malicious code and thus their account was labeled this way as well. We will be updating the code to a their new name VigLink today so these warnings will not be popping up any longer.
