Dates on Posts

I live in the U.S. and generally we date things mm-dd-yy. On this forum it is dd-mm-yy. Is there any option I have not seen yet where I can change the date thing to mm-dd-yy?

Thanks in advance

Re: Dates on Posts

Maybe it's time to adopt the more rational dd-mm-yy?

Hi Tony - We see this request occasionally and understand the reasons. That said, we have an international readership and so regardless of the choice we make about date formatting, some one will be inconvenienced. Unfortunately there is no setting that you can change for your own account.

Re: Dates on Posts

The most logical one I've seen, and the one I personally use, is yy-mm-dd. It runs invariably from largest time unit to smallest, and is amenable to being decimalized, i.e. today is 2012.09.13.

Some wags refer to this convention as "stardates", but I merely find it convenient as it banishes ambiguity, and works well in logs, etc.

Unsurprisingly, my watch is on 24 hour, but not Zulu, time (I keep a Zulu time clock at the nav station). So last night I started building a fire at nineteen-thirty hours.

Your timing may vary.
