CF Website Flagged as Dangerous

A short while ago I navigated to the forum only to have media player pop up and when I closed it IE informed that CF had been flagged as comprimised. The url that was attempting to load was some odd thing, which I suppose I should have written down before runnning screaming to my favorite hockey teams site instead.

All seems well now but I thought I should mention it. Two weeks ago my bank account was hacked to the tune of $17,000. Fortunately it was insured but the mess has only just been cleaned up. I've always thought of myself as carefull with regards to my web habits but there you have it. Not careful enough. I thought I sound the alarm to others out there.

Same here - I thought I mistyped the wrong address so I retyped and it went through, but checking history I did type it correct as well. So I didn't save the xploit info either.

My best guess is that it could have come from a google ad.

I refreshed the CF site after bringing my computer out of sleep mode and got an error message from MS Security Essentials.

Security Essentials removed an Exploit: Win32/Pidief.BE classed as severe.

After hearing of my banking problems a friend sent a news item about a online business that had been recently hacked and there shopping cart comprimised. Prehaps there's a virus out there at work?

Just had the same experience. Luckily this is a govt computer, and I don't do any banking on line or via card.

I have not seen any pop-ups, but I use FireFox with the AdblockPlus add-on. There are known attacks against Internet Explorer in progress at present (see Stuxnet attackers used 4 Windows zero-day exploits | ZDNet )

Just curious if those seeing the pop-ups are using Internet Explorer or a variety of browsers.

That seems to make it multi-browser. I use FF because I'm on Linux rather than windows and I have not seen a pop-up all night. I feel cheated somehow... Are you running Adblock with FF? I am and perhaps that stops the dodgy advert before it loads?

Update: Turned off Adblock and tried a few dozen reloads. Nothing......

I do on my home computer, but I'm at a university computer at the moment with no adblock.
