Anyone Else Have this Problem on CF?

This occurs sometimes when I am amending/editing a previous post of mine. Let's say I mis-spelled a word. I locate the curser where I want to insert a letter, clik, and when I type a letter the whole post highlights in blue.
When this occurs I am unable to retype anything, or move the curser and clik.. if I do it just re-hilites. If i use the scroll knob on my mouse the font size of the whole page gets larger/smaller.
I then exit CF and the scroll button does this on everything even my email etc.
I am very active on 3-4 forums and this ONLY occurs on CF. If I reboot the computer everything is OK.
What the heck...?

You sure your CTRL button isn't getting stuck? If you hold it down and mouse scroll it will adjust zoom in the web browser. I also does some weird stuff while you're typing. Could also be a shift button stuck.

Never happens to me.

Then again, I never make mistakes.

Seriously, never had problems with editing any posts.

Re: Anyone else have this problem on CF?

computer is only about a year old. I bought a new mouse, but no change. Wierd that it only occurs on CF. I got a notice from a moderator once (right after this occurred) saying my font was not to CF spec... also, it occurs without ever hitting ctrl....
Oh well, one of lifes little mysteries....

Sounds like a keyboard problem.....any chance that comp is an HP? First thing I do with a new computer is throw out the keyboard, the are junk. If it is a laptop then you prob need a can of air, hold it upside down and spray. It is crazy what they collect.

I have had similar issues....sometimes the cursor isn't even there !

It's the same whether you're using a PC or a fruit machine, this is all web based, has nowt to do with your operating system

Re: Anyone else have this problem on CF?

This is a test.

Edit: this is another test.

Edit:

Edit: I have never had a problem so something is strange.

Edit: editing that is...

Are you sure the cursor just isn't lost in a line of text and not where you think it should be?

Edit: try hitting the END key.

So, what browser and OS are you using? The last time I had those issues was when I still had a Windows PC. I have never seen this behaviour with Safari on iPad or Mac.

On most OS'ses the edit-mode is the OS, not the browser, i.e. the browser calls an OS function for the edit.

Soooo, I stand by my previous remark that this is typical for Windows PC's. You can try different browsers and when they act the same you should be convinced it is an OS call.

Yeah, I'm too the point where my next computer will be a Mac. Tired of MS trying to improve things to the point where you can no longer control your computer! I'm running Windows 7. From the above posts, I still think there that something is amiss at CF though. It may not effect everyone the same but it's effecting more than one person. The problem ONLY occurs at CF for me. As mentioned earlier... I am very active on 3 other forums.. no issue even once...

Try cleaning out all your cache then download and run Spybot..
I was having probs as well tho' not that bad.. are you W7 or 8... I do know my W7 is crapper than XL which was crapper than 2000 and on down the line... my favourite was W98.
They're just trying to be too clever and screw everyone for the latest Windows setup.. now its almost an annual thing.. gimme $$'s
XP is no longer supported and pretty soon W7 will be the same...
