New Rules in Turkey for Black Water Discharge

For those cruising in, or going to the Bodrum to Fethiye areas, there are new rules regarding the discharge of black, grey, and bilge waters as well...

For those cruising in, or going to the Bodrum to Fethiye areas, there are new rules regarding the discharge of black, grey, and bilge waters as well as new cruising rules for the Gocek bays and coves. Noonsite.com has the latest update from the Turkish Marine Environment Protection Association.
Pumping out of the holding tanks is finally coming to Turkey. However, the numbers of stations are currently limited, but expected to grow. The cost has yet to be finalized, but at Yat Marina in Marmaris, it is rumored to be about $45 (70 TL) per tank. In the Gocek area, where grey water is required to be contained, the tanks could fill up quickly.
While it is not exactly clear what is required, the agent at Yat Marina in Marmaris Turkey said don't go retro-fitting boats until this issue gets sorted out. At present, it is even unclear if you can go offshore and pump your tanks.

These new rules only apply to the cruising area from Bodrum to Fethiye, but expect them to be expanded to other areas in a few years.

n.b. This was bound to happen sooner or later. All those day-trippers and gulets without holding tanks have really screwed up the waters. It's too bad they never heard of "leave a clean wake".

We are planning a trip through the Canal systems of Europe, down the River Danube and out into the Black Sea.

We would then like to sail south into the Aegean Sea, around the Greek Islands heading west until we finally make it back to France.
Our boat is a 24ft Hirondelle bridge deck catamaran, narrow enough to cope with canals but hopefully big enough to deal with the various challenges that such a voyage will bring to us.
We are looking for information from anyone who has done a similar voyage and who would be happy to share any information with us.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Laying-Up Costs in the Med?

Considering the purchase of a yacht in the eastern Med and would eventually want to sail it to northern Europe. In case we are to go through with this we would like to sail the yacht 4-5 weeks each summer, progressing at a leisurely pace towards Gibraltar, and lay up the boat somewhere to continue next year.

However, I have absolutely NO idea what the cost of laying up a boat in the Med is like. Would like to do the French canals, but draft is too great for that. The boat in question is 43' long, 12' beam.
