I'll stretch a line between mast and rigging above spreader, but if anyone has had success dealing with loons, perhaps they could suggest the most effective distance this line should be above the spreader, or any other idea. Now is not the time to experiment !<br />

			<title>Special Size Cutlass Bearing</title>

Removed the propellers, removed this section where the cutlass bearing sits in. Than removed the stern tube and took the last part out where the cutlass bearing sits infront of the stuffing box. <br />
Bought 4 new 1 3/4 ID and 2 5/8 cutlass bearings. Now it seems that the inside bearings have a different size. They are 1 3/4 by 2.5 inch. The suppliers here on the island told me that this size is a not existing one. can any one tell me if this is available on the market.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>In a recent discussion I think I saw a statement that any vessel on a collision course,  in a position to have to avoid a collision (regardless of who was initially the stand-on vessel),  was required to turn to starboard.<br />

Is that really correct ?<br />
<br />
If it is correct and I suddenly see a boat on a collision course coming out of the fog slightly to port,  then I'd have to turn to starboard even if turning to starboard <b>only</b> helps avoid the collision if the other skipper is also awake and also turns to his/her starboard ?<br />
<br />
IOW,  turning to <b>port</b> with no action on the part of the possibly sleeping skipper would <b>avoid</b> the collision,  but turning to <b>starboard</b> with the possibly sleeping skipper doing nothing <b>does not avoid the collision</b>.<br />
<br />
I can certainly understand how such a rule would come about but sleeping skippers really mess up the logic,  if the rule is really as I think I read.<br />

This never came to market, and with GPS, probably will never do so, as well.  I'd like to hollow out the handle on one of my sextants and build a pushbutton to &quot;mark&quot; my own sights.  Does anyone know of chronometer kits that could do the job?</div>
